Book It Already! 5 Dream Matches for 2022/23
There are match-ups in wrestling that never happened, even though they absolutely could and should. Here are five such matches that I need to see as soon as possible.

Stone Cold Steve Austin vs. Hulk Hogan. The Undertaker vs. Sting. There are many matches like that, and they all have one thing in common: For a variety of reasons, they never actually happened inside a wrestling ring — but they happened over and over again in the ring of our minds.
But you don’t always need the biggest of names for a dream match. In fact, I’d argue that dream matches on the independent scene can be particularly exciting, because here those matches can actually happen. Exclusive contracts and other roadblocks do not (usually) exist here. It only takes one promoter to finally book the damn thing. So, dear promoters: Book it already!
Robert Dreissker v. Pascal Spalter
Why has no German promoter thought to book this match yet? It’s a mystery to me. The super heavyweights Dreissker and Spalter would make perfect opponents (and likely a devastating tag team, too). Both bring years of ring experience to the table; they like to hit hard and they skilfully take advdantage of their considerable weight. The fact that both men play leading roles in Germany’s biggest promotions is almost irrelevant at this point, but it could add some additional weight to the match (pun fully intended).
Crowchester v. Robbie X
When Crowchester is on the card for a show, you know you're going to get at least one bonafide banger. Thanks to his commitment, passion and, of course, his spectacular aerial moves, the crow has become the German highflyer over the last year. Similar things can be said for Robbie X, who has won the hearts of the British wrestling community with speed and finesse and should be considered the top highflyer in the UK today.
Maggot & Baby Allison v. Bussy (Effy & Allie Katch)
The power couple of wXw against the dream team of GCW - I can hardly imagine a more explosive match-up. The 'Son of Nothing' Maggot and his demonic partner can pull off just about any style. Sometimes they're fun, sometimes they're serious, but the resulting match is always well worth seeing. Bussy never fail to deliver, either. They proved that in hard-fought matches against teams like the Briscoes. Both teams usually benefit from the fact that their reputations precede them. Most of the time, their opponents don't know how to take them. How exciting it would be to see them go up against a set of opponents who are just as wild and unpredictable! Would these four end up killing each other — or make out in the middle of the ring? We won’t know until a promotion with all the neccessary connections decides to book this tag team extravaganza (Looking at you, PROGRESS).
Luke Jacobs v. John Klinger
Luke Jacobs may look like a jock straight out of an American teen drama, but he’s a killer inside the ring, routinely chucking opponents into the front row with a Death Valley Driver like it’s nothing. Over the course of his young career, the former PROGRESS Atlas Champion has left veterans like Big Damo or Axel Tischer in the dust. But could he win a match with ‘Bad Bones’ John Klinger? Klinger looks back on almost 20 years of ring experience, and the list of his achievements seems endless. Everything there is to win on the continent, he has won at one point or another. His brutal battles with the likes of GUNTHER, Ilja Dragunov, Cody Rhodes, Brian Cage and Axel Tischer have made Klinger a living legend in European wrestling. Is 'Young Gun' Luke Jacobs ready for the 'Most Dangerous Man in European Wrestling'? A match between the two would almost certainly be a instant classic.
Tarkan Aslan v. Cara Noir
The chatter in the audience dies down as the lights dim. A familiar, much anticipated music begins to play. The crowd ohhhs and ahhhs when he finally appears on the stage. Well? Who am I talking about here? The 'Black Swan' Cara Noir... or maybe Berlin’s 'Lion King', Tarkan Aslan? Both have impressive entrances that never fail to enchant the audience. But the similarities don’t end there: Both men are lone wolves who rarely (if ever) speak; both ooze charisma; both are known for a unique, highly psychological ring style. You might think Cara Noir and Tarkan Aslan were separated at birth - and I say it's high time they meet.
